A week-long outage was caused by a script maintenance issue, according to Atlassian.
Atlassian, a provider of cloud-based collaboration software, has attributed a prolonged partial outage to an update to a maintenance script. The outage, which began on April 5th, is still ongoing, affecting services including Jira Software, Jira Work Management, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Opsgenie Cloud, Statuspage, and Atlassian Access for some of its customers.
Around 400 customers, a small percentage of its total customer base of 226,000, have reported being unable to access any of the services, while others have experienced partial access issues.
According to an Atlassian spokesperson, “While conducting maintenance, a script action resulted in a small number of our customers being unable to access their products.” The company confirmed that the incident was not the result of a cyberattack and that there has been no unauthorized access to customer data. Atlassian has apologized for the disruption and assured customers that it expects “recoveries to occur with minimal or no data loss.”
