Dream Secures $100M Series B Funding to Strengthen National Cybersecurity
Dream, an AI-driven cybersecurity company specializing in national and critical infrastructure protection, has announced the successful closure of a $100 million Series B funding round. Led by Bain Capital Ventures, this latest investment values the company at $1.1 billion. Additional investors include Group 11, Tru Arrow, Tau Capital, and Aleph. The funding will support Dream’s expansion and enhancement of its cutting-edge AI-driven cybersecurity solutions.
Addressing Cybersecurity as a Data Challenge
Cybersecurity has evolved beyond a traditional security concern into a complex data management challenge. Governments worldwide face the daunting task of securing legacy systems, cloud environments, and hybrid architectures while contending with an overwhelming volume of security data. Meanwhile, cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated, with adversaries leveraging AI to bypass traditional defenses and exploit security blind spots.
Dream is revolutionizing cybersecurity by integrating advanced AI models that operate with the mindset of both attackers and defenders. By combining AI-driven predictive threat detection with advanced posture management, Dream has built a robust security ecosystem that not only detects threats but proactively neutralizes them before they manifest.
A New Standard for National Cybersecurity
“Never before has a company been founded with the primary mission of providing national cybersecurity protection for governments and critical infrastructure,” said Shalev Hulio, co-founder and CEO of Dream. “We designed Dream from the ground up to address the unique security challenges faced by nations.”
Sebastian Kurz, co-founder and President of Dream, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the growing cyber threat landscape. “Sophisticated cyberattacks on critical infrastructure are increasing in both scale and complexity. As a former Prime Minister, I have witnessed firsthand how such attacks can disrupt society and cause real harm. Dream’s mission is to equip nations with the tools they need to defend against these existential threats.”
A Founding Team with Deep Cybersecurity Expertise
Dream was co-founded by Sebastian Kurz, former Prime Minister of Austria; Shalev Hulio, a serial entrepreneur and former founder of NSO Group; and Gil Dolev, a cybersecurity expert. Drawing from their extensive backgrounds in cyber intelligence and national security, the founders have developed Dream into a trusted partner for governments and national cybersecurity organizations worldwide.
In just two years since its founding, Dream has secured over $130 million in annual sales for 2024, demonstrating its pivotal role in global cyber defense.
Advancing AI-Powered Cybersecurity
The new funding will accelerate the development of Dream’s Cyber Language Model (CLM), the first-ever family of AI-driven language models explicitly designed for cybersecurity operations. Since cybersecurity threats primarily manifest through text, logs, and data, these models are tailored to understand, analyze, and respond to complex cyber intelligence. By automating traditionally labor-intensive security tasks, Dream’s CLM enhances threat detection and response capabilities, providing organizations with unprecedented insights into their networks and vulnerabilities.
Notably, Dream’s technology requires no installation or integration, enabling governments and security agencies to rapidly fortify their defenses against nation-state cyber threats.
Expanding Global Reach and Industry Leadership
Beyond technological advancements, the investment will fuel Dream’s expansion into additional global markets, with a strategic focus on regions facing heightened national security risks from cyber threats.
As part of this funding round, industry veterans Enrique Salem and Shlomo Yanai will join Dream’s Board of Directors. Salem, a partner at Bain Capital Ventures and former CEO of Symantec, brings extensive expertise in enterprise cybersecurity. Yanai, the former CEO of Teva Pharmaceuticals and a current board member at Philip Morris, adds valuable leadership experience to Dream’s governance. They will join existing board members Dovi Frances, Michael Eisenberg, and Dream’s founding team.
“The Dream team has a proven track record of delivering world-class security solutions to governments and leading global organizations,” said Enrique Salem. “Their rapid growth underscores their expertise, and I am confident in their ability to solve the cybersecurity industry’s biggest challenges, including incomplete visibility and alert fatigue.”
