Caution to Android Users: These 38 malicious apps covertly display ads on your phone
A McAfee report has identified 38 Android apps that engage in malicious activities on users’ devices. The apps claim to provide Minecraft-like gaming experiences but are free alternatives to the paid mobile version. The cybersecurity firm found that the apps generate unjustified revenue for the game developers by delivering dubious advertisements in the background of the user’s device. The apps have already been downloaded by over 35 million users worldwide. Though most of these apps have been pulled down from the Google Play Store, if any of these apps are installed on your phone, it poses a serious security risk. McAfee advises users to check the ratings and reviews carefully before downloading any apps from the store and to keep their phones secure with the latest updates.
